Originally by: Hakera Such a dilemma,
people join a socailist model corp knowing the majority of their efforts go to the corp in return from provision of everything you need.
when they leave, they expect it to suddenly turn captialist and refund their efforts in the past? That sort of destroys the whole model if members work for corp, then leave & demand their isk back. I mean you get to walk out with two teir 2 battleships and whatever else you gained on the side for what a few days mining per month?? and want 2 billion on top of that?
If that figure of 2 billion is right, then I would tell those ex members to go to hell personally, 2 billion per member is a joke really and Crytek are a joke for trying to play the rightous tune.
Tbh - when you sign up for socialist corps, you should understand what that means, imo, yes some compenstaion should be paid (in the form of 'wages), but asking for billions is a pile of **** Just ex members being greedy tbh and dragging their new corps to settle their disputes for them.
to leave with 2 teir 2 BS, equipment and whatever else, maybe 50-100mill on top i would give, but that is it and perhaps change the model to give a wage in the future to prevent this sort of bickering.
Just my opinion as an outsider!
My thoughts exactly.
First off, I do not represent anyone in particular, merely my own thoughts on the matter.
Now, I don't know the majority of people in question, but the convo posted (the very long one, with loads of all caps and cendored words) reminds me of the last time I talked to Will9Anthony - now apparantly reformed pirate, and member of Crytek. Along with other, names not worth mentioning, now members of Crytek. They were pirates then, tbh I don't truly believe people really care to reform, merely adapt and shed their reputation. I do believe it's obvious I don't believe much in that, either.
What this all alludes to, is that I, as an outsider, don't know what the majority of people in Crytek are, but I do recognize a frightening amount of names that I know I've fought against, when they were proclaimed pirates. Their methods haven't even changed much, I must say.
So claiming to be legit now, but using the tools of the trade from their vaunted _former_ lives...
Leaves my opinion on this matter somewhat biased towards seeing extortion and piracy when I see it.
This appears to be one such case. Sad day indeed if there are truly legit members of Crytek, who are being pulled into this war. And sad indeed, if Crytek managed to pull CoD into it as well, as I didn't see CoD as pirates before (although I've always questioned the judgmental powers of those who accepted Crytek into CoD).
Whatever has transpired between CI and their now former members, I must return to Hakeras words, and claim I agree. 2 billion is a rather silly amount, on top of several battleships.
*Sighs*
If you want to be socialist, be socialist. If you want to be capitalist, be capitalist. But don't goof around and then change, according to what suits you the best. That's opportunistic greed, really.
Cheers.
